Bay Area Modern Music. The whole idea behind !BAMM! is to promote the local music community. We are passionate advocates for local composers, performers, and musical groups; through an annual festival and student composers competition, we bring together these young artists for a night of exciting music making! We showcase music that blurs the boundaries between genres while building a community of eclectic music makers.
In my previous life as a touring metal musician one of my favorite things to do was playing local shows with the up and coming talent in the Bay Area. The idea of supporting your local scene was instilled into me as a young underground music concert goer and I believe this credo aligns well with today’s new art music scene. The Bay Area is the epicenter on the west coast for new art music and there is a rich pool of young talent at every !BAMM!. Our annual !BAMM! festival strives to unite local Bay Area composers and musicians in order to promote the Bay Area’s vibrant musical culture. We hope to see you every season and thank you for supporting your local music community.
